Q:
How to record a drum track?
A:
Recording a Drum Track
Now we are ready to record. We can record in any order we want. For this example we’ll start with the Drum Track. 1) Press SEQUENCER. 2) Press REC and set the Record mode to MODE=MIX and the Loop mode to LOOP=4. 3) Hold SHIFT and press METRONOME to start the Metronome. 4) Press the 1-8/9-16 indicator so that it is lit, then press TRACK 10. 5) Press PLAY and start playing the Kick Drum (note C2, #36) and the Snare Drum (note D2, #38) after the count-in (The sequencer will repeat this four bar section indefinitely). 6) While your Kick and Snare continue to play, add a Hi-Hat part (note F#2, #42). 7) Hold SHIFT and press METRONOME to turn the metronome off. 8) Now add some Tambourine (note F#3, #54) in a similar manner. 9) Press STOP when you are finished. Note: If you are unhappy with what you’ve recorded, you can use the Undo function on the XP-50 to erase the most recent recording.
