Actually the G4 laptops do have numeric keypads. If you hold the function key (labeled "fn" , bottom left most key on the keyboard) then the right half of the keyboard becomes a numeric keypad. The numeric keypad keys are a light beige color on the keyboard.
If this solution does not suit your needs you could also plug in a USB keyboard.
