Q:
Problems with stuck of skipped notes when using DP 3.02 and Unity 3.04
A:
At the moment, there seems to be an issue where FreeMIDI's interapplication MIDI queue may be getting over run. Symptoms are dropped MIDI messages such as note off's (which will lead to stuck notes, etc.). Bitheadz currently working with MOTU to find a solution.
Currently, the available workarounds are: - Pulling the Unity MAS plug and running under Rewire/OMS alleviates the problem completely. - For those who wish to run MAS/FreeMIDI, Bitheadz has implemented a "killswitch" to help avoid stuck notes. If a user configures Digital Performer to transmit beat clock to Unity (Basics menu -> Transmit Sync -> Transmit beat clocks to -> Applications/Unity), Unity will shut down all currently active voices as soon as you stop receiving clock from DP even if the software hasn't yet received a note off command.
