When I create a new document by choosing "new default document", I can't add accidentals to notes in the first staff. But if I add more staves, I can add accidentals to them.

Coda has acknowledged that this is a minor bug in Allegro 2001.R1, and is working to adjust for this.
Temporarily, the solution is to delete the original staff in the new default document, and simply create a new staff in it's place.
