Q:
In Pro Tools 5.3 or 5.31 when a midi track has a negative offsett and the session is set to generate tc mode Pro Tools will jump to 11:25:41:11/12:26:18:24 secs and either stay or go into tapping fingers and quit the session.
A:
Pro Tools exhibits odd behavior after the 2nd playback attempt when the session start time is 0 and your generating time code with a negative MIDI offset.
Workarounds: 1. Do not Generate TC 2. Set the session to a start time of 01:00:00:00 and it is happy. Though this is no good if your not able to change the TC time on the synched unit. Any time between zero and 1hr will still do it. 3. Do not playback from the exact beginning of the session. Pro Tools is getting confused by crossing 0 (the offset makes it start before 0).
