Q:
Can I make program changes with my Native instrument in Cubase?

A:
Program Changes in the course of a song
Program change commands can be used to change the preset of plug-in from within a track. In this way you can call up different sound settings during the course of a song. Open "Edit -› List", open the black pop-up field "Note Event" (see picture) and select "Program Change". Now you can draw a program change at the desired song position in the right hand field using the pencil tool. In the column "Val 1" simply enter, by double-clicking, the new preset/program number. For example "5" for the drawbar preset number 5 of B4, or for Snapshot 5 of REAKTOR/DYNAMO.
With this setting, program-number 5 will be called in the third bar.
Note: When changing presets during a song using this method it is important to check that the entry "Prg" in the "Track Info Inspector" (opened by the small arrow at the lower left of the "Arrange" window) is set to "Off". Otherwise if the sequencer is stopped, all the presets will be set to this value!

Tip: With most instruments or effects (Hardware or Software) it is recommendable to leave a short pause between a program change command and the next MIDI event, otherwise hanging notes and other problems might occur.
