The gate control arps need to have the Key Mode set to direct. This allows the notes on the keyboard you play to come out directly, but adds the control messages from the arps.

You can do this in Mix Mode Common Edit- F3[Arpeggio] SF1[Arpeggio Type] by setting the Keymode parameter to Direct.
