Q:
How do I create a split voice on my S80?
A:
A Voice can consist of up to four Elements, each containing a different Wave (digital sample of a sound). By setting different Note Ranges for these Elements, a Voice can be split to play different sounds in different note ranges.
NOTE: Before setting the Note Ranges for the Elements of a Voice, some preliminary settings should be made; the Voice should be initialized, named, and have Waves selected for the Elements. Setting Note Ranges: 1) Set up the desired Voice in Voice mode. (See NOTE above.) 2) Press the [EDIT] button. 3) Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then turn the (PAGE) knob until the cursor points to 'OSC' at the bottom of the screen. 4) Release the [SHIFT] button, then turn the (PAGE) knob until 'OSC Limit' is displayed on the left side of the screen. 5) Turn the (A) knob to select an Element for the lower Split section (Example: 'EL1'). 6) Turn the (B) knob to select the lower Note Limit for the selected Element (Example: 'C -2'). 7) Turn the (C) knob to select the upper Note Limit for the selected Element (Example: 'G 2'). 8) Repeat steps 5 - 7 for the Element to be used in the upper Split section (Example: 'EL2') 9) Element 1 will now play in the lower section of the Split, and Element 2 will play in the upper section of the Split.
