Q:
Why doesn't my one measure arpeggio loop?
A:
If you set the range of the Source to MEAS 001-004 and you only recorded a 1 measure phrase you will have 3 empty measures when substitute your USER ARP for one in a Performance. This will prevent you from hearing your ARP repeat endlessly.
Here are the steps for creating a drum pattern arpeggio. Go to SONG mode record your drum groove *or* you can create the drum groove in Pattern mode, if you are more comfortable in Pattern mode. When you have the groove like you like it in a PATTERN, then transfer it to a linear song. Use the PUT PHRASE TO SONG job. Pattern EDIT/ F4 Phrase/ job 07 (see page 229). This will place your drum groove to a SONG track. Once your data is in a SONG you can use the track job PUT PHRASE TO ARP (page 203) to create the arpeggio. Set the SOURCE TRACK and measure Range, if you created a 1 measure pattern set the range to 001-001, if you created a 4 measure pattern set the rnage to 001-004. Set the Destination USER ARP number and check the box that says FIXED NOTE MODE (this will force the arpeggiator to playback your drum groove note-for-note no matter what keys are played on the keyboard). Now when you activate the USER ARP in any Performance it will play continuously
