The Emax II Uses custom memory; EMU part #2216 memory expander board with 2Mb installed (this board MUST be installed first ) and up to two of Emu part #2208 2Mb expansion kits. Uses 256K X 4 @120ns DIP RAM (16 DIP per 2Mb). 2Mb stock; can be updated to 8Mb via (1) 2216 + (2) 2208 upgrades. Upgraded in 2Mb increments. Go straight from the stock 2Mb all the way to 8Mb with EMU part #2232 which is a 2216 loaded with (2) 2208 for 6Mb total. Stereo sampling update is also available for mono units. Memory is displayed in Megawords which equals 1/2 the amount of megabytes.
