Q:
"System Error -50" or "System Error -108" after "Creating Missing Crossfades" dialog when opening a session in Pro Tools.
A:
The -108 means there was not enough memory to create the Fades.1) If session opens with no error dialog, save session. If you got error messages (-108 and -50 typically), close session, delete Fades folder in the Finder, increase the preferred memory of Pro Tools, and open session again.2) When deleting the fade files in the Finder, you should delete all fades in the folder or delete the folder itself. If you have multiple versions of session documents in the same folder, beware that the Fades folder should be deleted before opening an older version of the same session. This is because an older session file may reference a fade file that has been changed (i.e. I deal with file lengths being different but what if the shapes had been changed so that file length remains the same but the data is the different etc).
