If a partitioned drive is connected to a SysAxe, only the largest partition will be recognized.GMR's SysAxe Utilities (which are now out of production) when used with SysAxe Extension 2.37 allowed mounting of multiple partions on the SysAxe card. This was acheived by mounting the partitions consecutively after the selected SCSI ID (so a 'free' SCSI ID is required for each partition). The partitions showed up as hard drives in the Formatter base window. Let's say a 9 GB drive is partitioned into 3 equal parts and it is set to SCSI ID 4. The last drive will not show up, because ID 6 is reserved for tape drives only. The drive will have to be changed to ID 3 in order to show all 3 partitions. Of course, this limits the number of physical devices you can have on the SysAxe.The Formatter base of the SysAxe utilities was used to do things like view what is on the SysAxe SCSI chain, mount removable drives that don't come up on their own, and format drives while on the SysAxe card. The Partitioner, Mounter or MO support could be used by themselves or in combinations with or without the Formatter base. While troubleshooting, its helpful to open the Formatter base so you can make sure that the drives are on the correct ID's. When using the Partitioner, Mounter or MO support without installing Formatter base, SysAxe INIT 2.37 must be installed. This is the only extension that supports these items.GMR originally sold the utilities bundled as "Formatter, Partitioner and Mounter" for $199.00 or "Formatter, Partitioner, Mounter, MO support" for $499.00. When installing the Partitioner, Mounter or MO support, they get placed in the Preferences folder in the System folder, since the SysAxe INIT uses them when is loads. If they are not authorized this will cause the SysAxe to have loading problems. Each item has its own key that needs to be installed. If experiencing SysAxe INIT loading problems and these utilities are installed, check the Preference folder to see if they are present. If they are, move them to the Desktop and Restart. This should get the machine up and running.
