The Pro Tools 4.0 non-TDM manual states on pg 13 that "Pro Tools AMIII provides 4 channels of input and output when the analog RCA and digital S/PDIF inputs are used simultaneously", and page 61 states "Pro Tools AMIII and AMII provides up to 4 output channels."
A:
This is a misprint. Pro Tools on the Audiomedia II or III only provides 2 independant channels of input (you can select analog or digital input, but not both). Page 61 states the correct input capabilities of the AMIII.As far as outputs, the analog and digital outputs on AMII and AMIII are always active, and they provide an identical stereo mix.
