- Shut off the Macintosh and spin down the drives. - Trash media database on every media drive/partition that is mounted, then launch AV or MC to rebuild the media databases*- Connect and reconnect cables- Check SCSI ID numbers- Check SCSI Termination- Try removing SCSI devices one at a time to isolate the problem.* The media database may consist of one or two files depending on what system it is. The media database on Media Composer versions prior to 7.x and AudioVision 4.x consists of one file called "Media Database". Media Composer 7.x media database consists of two files msmMac.pmr and msmOMFI.mdb, both should be trashed to rebuild the database.
