-7920 error is thrown when attempting to authorize or deauthorize software on the internal IDE drive of a G3 computer.

Usually, you will see this error if a SCSI accelerator card is present, and a drive running from that card is mounted on the desktop. Switch off the computer, switch off all drives connected to the SCSI accelerator, and reboot the CPU. Authorizing should now work fine.
