Q:
"A Fatal error occurred while recording, code 57, data is too long to fit on disk" when burning a CD longer than 74 minutes in MLCD. What is the maximum length CD that MLCD 2.2 supports?
A:
MLCD 2.2 implemented a maximum limit of 74:03 because older versions were unreliable in determining available disk space, depending on what CD-R was being used. In other words, the CD-R was determining the max length and some were correctly returning the available disk space and others were returning insanely large numbers, resulting in there being no practical length limit. A long burn might still fail, however, at a later step -- possibly when sending subcode or maybe while writing the disc. We imposed the limit to make behavior more predictable and consistent from CD-R to CD-R.
