Q:
DAE Error -7401 "The following plug-ins could not be restored" On a Windows NT system.Virus, Bruno, Reso
A:
Windows NT only. Opening the same session (containing a Virus Plug-In) three times in a row causes Pro Tools to post a "The following plug-ins could not be restored..." dialog and a DAE -7401 error. Attempting to manually instantiate a Virus plug-in after the session has opened will cause a crash (runtime error). We recommend that you close the session without saving and quit and relaunch Pro Tools. The same error may be posted when swapping Virus instances with other Virus plug-ins, for example going from Virus 1a to Virus 2a. This is a problem that can happen with Virus 1.0, Bruno and Reso Plug-Ins on NT systems, but only if you have no midi interface. If you have a midi interface you should never encounter this problem. This also happens with Bruno/Reso on Win NT.
