Q:
How do I record a MIDI track as an audio track in Pro Tools?
A:
1) Create an audio channel(s). If stereo, make two audio channels and pan each hard (100) left and right. 2) Connect the outputs of your MIDI device (keyboard, drum machine, etc.) into available inputs of the 001. 3) Set the input of the audio channel(s) to the input(s) you have routes into from your MIDI device. 4) If you are not actually recording yet but want to monitor the signal through an audio channel(s), make sure that Pro Tools LE is set to Input Monitor only under the Operations menu. 5) Record enable your audio channel(s) and hit play/record.

Can I use an earlier OS other than OS 8.6 for Digi 001? What about OS 9? Digi 001 is not powered on or seen by Pro Tools LE. When I overdub audio with prerecorded MIDI the two are slightly out of sync. How come the mirroring choice in the Other Options dialog doesn't show up in Hardware Setup but does show up in Playback Engine? Cannot generate MTC from the Digi 001's MIDI Output.
