Q:
How do I work with Tokyo Engine presets in Koblo's Studio9000?
A:
Koblo files are saved as presets and projects. A preset is similar to a patch you would save on any standard synthesizer. If you create your own preset (this is done by modifying an existing preset) you must save it in the presets folder for that specific synth within the Tokyo Data folder. This is not automatic, you must navigate to this folder (hard drive Tokyo folder Tokyo data folder presets folder preset for that specific synth). Projects are similar to a Pro Tools session. A project is automatically saved in the Projects folder within the Tokyo Data folder and contains information about which synths and presets are contained in that project. All changes to existing presets are global and will effect preexisting projects. To avoid changing presets that are included in other projects, presets can be duplicated using the save as function. It is possible for your Pro Tools session to launch the Tokyo project and presets that are associated with it. You must first save the presets for all open Tokyo synths, then save the project, and then save your Pro Tools session. Quit Pro Tools first and then quit Tokyo when you are done working. The next time you launch your Pro Tools session, it will also launch Tokyo and bring up all presets associated with this project.
