Q:
How Do I sync Digital Performer and Pro Tools using OMS 2.3.8 and FreeMidi 1.4x in OMS emulation mode?
A:
In OMS:-Double click on the IAC Driver device and create two busses:IAC Driver 1IAC Driver 2 (these names are completely arbitrary)Save and Quit OMS (don't forget to disable "Use Apple Serial DMA When Available" in the Edit>Preferences menu!)Launch Pro Tools and then Digital Performer so DP doesn't try to acquire the hardware first. Confirm this in the Basics>Audio System submenu. In DP:Basics>Receive Sync: Sync to Port=IAC Driver Type= MTCWindows>MIDI Machine Control: -Turn MMC on by clicking the arrow (between the computer and deck icons) so it turns black.-Disable IAC Driver 1 and enable IAC Driver 2 by clicking the Online button for the device.- Basics>Slave To External Sync- Click Play to put DP OnlineIn Pro Tools:Windows>Show Session Setup: Enable MTC to Port=IAC Driver 1Setups>Peripherals>Synchronization: Device=Generic MTC Reader port=IAC Driver 2 Enable Control of Pro Tools via MMC ID# 0
