Q:
After installing an Audio Media III ( AMIII ) the PC posts a warning dialog of a resource conflict: error 0251 system CMOS check sum bad
A:
If you encounter this problem contact Tech Support. The AMIII card may be damaged. In this case the system appears to have available resources. The Wave driver posts the error upon installation: " The device driver was not written for this device do you want to continue?" Then the device shows up in the device manager under sound video and game controllers as a Digidesign Audio Media III with a yellow exclamation point. The Wave Driver does not recognize the card but the user is prompted to install the driver so it shows up under sound video and game controllers but really is an "unknown device" No matter what slot the AMIIIis in it causes the system at the BIOS level to report a bus error.
