System Items necessary for Bitheadz Retro AS-1/ Unity DS-1 for use with Direct Connect:(For Setup with Unity, simply replace the words "Retro AS-1" with "Unity DS-1". In other words, setup is identical for both)System Folder>OMS Folder:Retro AS-1 OMS DriverRetro AS-1 OMS NamesRetro AS-1 OMS ProviderSystem Folder>DAE Folder>Plug-Ins:DirectConnectRetro AS-1 PISystem Folder>Extensions:Digidesign Stream ManagerDigidesign Direct I/ODigiSystem INITDigidesign DSP MangerOpen Music SystemRetro AS-1 EngineRetro AS-1 Objects LibraryUpdate OMS to include the Retro AS-1 driver:-Studio>MIDI Cards and Interfaces-Click "Update Setup". (In order to keep your current settings intact, make sure to enable the port(s) to which your MIDI interface is connected. For USB MIDI interfaces, leave both (Serial and Printer) unchecked).-Retro AS-1 Driver should now show up in your Current Studio Setup.In the Retro AS-1 Control Panel:-Default MIDI Input= OMS-Audio I/O= DirectConnect-Quit and Relaunch Retro AS-1 to activate settings.To subscribe patch names to Retro AS-1 (must be done after updating your current OMS Setup):-Open the Retro AS-1 2.0 Folder>AS-1 Utilities>OMS-Double Click the "Retro AS-1 OMS Publish" application(Please note: Manually subscribing using OMS Names does not work: error "-39 Unexpected End-of-file" will result!)Launch the Retro AS-1 Keyboard (this is where you can select all of the presets).Launch Pro Tools and:-Create a MIDI track and set its destination to a channel of Retro AS-1-Create a Stereo Aux track and instantiate the Retro AS-1 plug-in-Rec-enable the MIDI track and raise the fader on the Aux Input to hear the output of the synth in Pro Tools.
