Both SampleCell and Pro Tools are capable of utilizing Digidesign audio sound cards, but only one can access any single card at one time. Typically, which ever application is opened first will take control of the hardware and not make it available. Once again, if you UN-check Active in Background, this will free up the hardware once any other application is made active.
