Q:
How does the sorting method I choose affect the order in which PostConform loads sources from the source tape?
A:
Sort by Record In (A Mode) will load the audio in chronological order of the show regardless of reel number or time code. This means that PostConform will not pay any attention to whether other sources from the same tape can be loaded at that time. This is the least efficient manner by which to conform your audio.Sort by Name/Record In (B mode) will force PostConform to pay attention to all sources that can be loaded from the same tape. It then loads all source audio from that tape in chronological order of the show but not in the order of sources on the tape. This means that PostConform will at least load all sources that reside on one tape but it will force your tape deck to shuttle back and forth as it attempts to find the right section.Sort by Name/Source In (C Mode) is the most efficient method of conforming using PostConform. This method forces PostConform to pay attention to both the reel number as well as source audio time code. In this mode PostConform pays no attention to the chronology of the show itself and is instead only concerned with loading source audio in the fastest manner from the start of the tape towards the end.
