Q:
How do I get Pro Tools LE 5.1/Windows sessions converted so that they open in earlier versions of Pro Tools on the Mac? When I Save Session Copy In on the Windows platform and choose earlier versions prior to 5.1, the file format selectors and "enforce Mac/PC compatibility" checkbox become greyed out.
A:
You will need to have Pro Tools 5.1 running on the Macintosh platform in order to open the converted files from Windows and save them to earlier Mac versions. In Pro Tools 5.1 on Windows platform:- Save Session Copy In... and for file format choose AIFF. - Target a new destination and hit OK. - Move the newly created session folder to a Mac hard drive - open it with Pro Tools 5.1 for Macintosh- Save Session Copy In. - In the save Copy in Dialog, choose earlier Mac versions of Pro Tools session format.
