Q:
Getting DAE errors -9161, -9162 and/or -6046 when launching Pro Tools.Another symptom is that the Macintosh Operating System may be acting very sluggish, i.e. with every command you choose, such as "Open" from the File menu, you get the "tapping fingers" and the OS response is slow and delayed.
A:
This can be caused by an interface cable not being seated properly, bent pins on the interface cable connectors, or just a bad cable. The audio interface provides a clock for the cards to function, thus a damaged cable can cause -6046, -9161, or -9162 errors.Try removing and reseating the PCI card. Also, remove the interface cable, check for bent pins, and reseat both sides of the connector, making sure they are not connected upside-down, and that they sit in all the way on both the card and the interface side.
