Q:
How do I optimize my system to reduce/eliminate jerky playback with QuickTime movies when using Fuse hardware with Pro Tools 5?
A:
-Capture Video at less than 1MB per second (500-800k) and 320x240 window size.-Use the Aurora codec when digitizing.-The Fuse drivers can display video on the Mac monitor and the NTSC/PAL monitor simultaneously. This setting is not recommended. Set the Fuse to only display out of the NTSC/PAL output.-Since closing the Movie Window disables the movie from being displayed on the NTSC/PAL monitor, move the floating Pro Tools Movie Window to the bottom edge of your Mac screen and/or hide it as best you can.-Set the Movie Track in the Edit Window to Blocks. Whenever your session scrolls the drivers try to display every frame on the NTSC/PAL monitor making a horrible flickering during playback.
