The "Dithered" mixer was created to provide an alternate mixer which dithers the signal when truncating from the internal 48-bit mix bus back to the 24-bit TDM output - mostly in response to interested users who have been discussing the mixer sound quality. -It is still up for question whether or not there is any audible difference for normal signal levels - we're certainly curious to know if anyone can tell the difference in double-blind tests. -Remember that this dither is at the 24th bit level - other dithers used on L1 or Maxim are typically used when truncating to 20 bit or 16-bit, where it is much more apparent. It costs some DSP to provide the dithering, down to 47x2 from 59x2 on a single DSP. The other change to this mixer is an additional bit of headroom (to provide up to 36 dB over full-scale without clipping the internal mix bus - the "normal" mixer has 30dB of headroom). -This Mixer plug-in is just for stereo mixing - the Surround Mixer is a different plug-in used for surround mixing.
