A:
Pro Tools Custom Keyboard - Macally iKey USB MessageCertain combinations of USB peripherals or hubs when used in conjunction with the Pro Tools Custom keyboard have produced the following Macintosh error message for some users on boot-up:"The software needed to use the USB device "Macally iKey"cannot be found. Please refer to the device documentation to install the necessary software. If you do not install the software, you may want to remove the device to prevent this dialog from reappearing. This message is followed by an "OK" button. The information in this message is misleading. The Pro Tools Custom Keyboard, based on Macally's iKey, needs no software for operation. Just clicking on the "OK"button or hitting the Enter key clears the message and allows boot-up to proceed. The Pro Tools Custom Keyboard functions perfectly, despite this erroneous message. If this message occurs, experimenting with the connected USB peripherals or hubs may reveal the product combination that produces it.Macally is working with Apple engineers on new firmware that will eliminate this message in future revisions of the Pro Tools Custom Keyboard based on Macally's iKey.
