Q:
Pro Tools LE 5.x crashes when recording or is unstable during operations. Random occurrences of the error code "6002"
A:
Go to the Multimedia Control panel ( or equivalent in Windows ME )and choose Devices, Audio devices tab, Audio for DigidesignMultimedia devices, Right click properties and choose "Do not use audio features on this device" The operating system is trying to access the wave driver at the same time Pro Tools has control over it. Disabling the device in the multimedia control panel tells the operating system to not use the device, no more "6002" error. This is a temporary fix and should be addressed by the user at a later time with Digidesign tech support.
