Q:
DAE -4 Error on Mix card #1, DSP #1 when launching Pro Tools. also: Digitest crashes during test of Mix card #1.
 
A:
cards were in a 7 slot expansion chassis, with the cooling fans removed because of the noise they make. After working for a day, error -4 came up.When the cooling fans were installed in the chassis, the errors no longer occurred.
