Q:
When trying to Import or Export an MP3 file into Pro Tools using the MP3 Option, an error message appears:(mp3Ssc) Warning: Decoder - sync eof
A:
This error message will appear if the wrong version of the MP3.dll is in the MP3 folder. The correct version of MP3.dll is v.1.1.1.Here's what to do:1) Mac Hard Drive > System Folder > DAE Folder > Codecs Folder > MP3 Folder. Click just once on the MP3.dll file to highlight it. 2) File Menu > Get Info. See what version of the MP3.dll file. If it's MP3.dll v.1.1, drag to trash and empty trash.3) Drag and drop the correct version of the MP3.dll from the Pro Tools LE installer CD to the MP3 file on the Mac Hard Drive. Use the Pro Tools LE v.5.1.1 CD (full version). a) View the contents of the Pro Tools LE CD as a list. View Menu > As List. b) Open DAE Folder > Open Codecs Folder > Open MP3 Folder. Drag MP3.dll to MP3 Folder on Mac Hard Drive.4) The MP3.dll v1.1.1 is also downloadable at digidesign.com > Support > Downloads > MP3.4) Launch Pro Tools and try to Import Audio To Track with the MP3 file. Everything should work.
