Pro Audio Support

Q:
When dragging and dropping audio files with sample rates different than the session sample rate onto the Pro Tools application with a session open, Pro Tools does not prompt you to convert the sample rate if the bit depth of the audio file matches the session. The processing audio task bar never shows and the audio just instantly pops into the regions bin.

A:
This is a known problem in Pro Tools 5.1.1 and should be fixed in a later release. If the bit-depth is mismatched it converts both the bit depth and the sample rate. 24/48 into 24/44---->bug16/48 into 24/44---->no bug16/44 into 24/44---->no bug24/44 into 24/48---->bug16/48 into 24/48---->no bug16/44 into 24/48---->no bug16/48 into 16/44---->bug24/48 into 16/44---->no bug24/44 into 16/44---->no bug16/44 into 16/48---->bug24/48 into 16/48---->no bug24/44 into 16/48---->no bug
