Pro Audio Support

Q:
File exported from Pro Tools as "Avid compatible" and "OMFI Publish" is not recognized on a Media Composer or a Symphony on a Unity system.

A:
Avids create a folder called "OMFI Mediafiles" on each partition/workspace that they record to or playback from. Any audio or video media file must reside inside an "OMFI Mediafiles" folder or an Avid will not be able to see it or play it back. Avids on a Unity take this OMFI Mediafiles folder one step further. If there are two or more Avid systems on a Unity system, there will be one OMFI Mediafiles folder on each Unity workspace but within that OMFI mediafiles folder will be a folder with each Avid system's computer name. Inside this folder is where all files created by that particular Avid on this particular workspace will reside. When exporting files from Pro Tools directly to the OMFI Mediafiles folder for Avid access, the exported file must be placed not only inside the OMFI Mediafiles folder but also inside the folder of the Avid system you want to recognize this Pro Tools exported file.
