Why is the minimum value for Strip Silence -48dB?
A:
As of Pro Tools 5.1.3 (and the PT 5.2 release for DigiStudio), Strip Silence uses the 8-bit waveform overview as its reference. Therefore, a minimum threshold level of -48dB was the tightest we can achieve.
