Q:
Attempting to record a MIDI sequence into Pro Tools from an external sequencer freezes the MIDI track plasma meter. MIDI play and record no longer function without a reboot of the system.
A:
This can occur if an external MIDI sequencer has MIDI Echo Back active. In one case, a Yamaha RS-7000 keyboard controller / sequencer was exhibiting this problem.To disable MIDI Echo Back on the Yamaha RS-7000:- Press the Utility button twice to enter the MIDI Setup page.- Set the Echo Back parameter to "off."
