Q:
How to create a Hardware Profile for Pro Tools LE in Windows 98SE or ME.
A:
If disabling devices in the Device Manager becomes necessary to run Pro Tools without error messages, it might be preferable to create a special Hardware Profile first. Thus, your "Pro Tools" Hardware Profile will have disabled devices, while the "Original Configuration" Hardware Profile will have these devices enabled. 1) Right-click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Profiles. "Original Configuration" is highlighted. 2) Click "Copy" and name "Pro Tools" and press "OK". 3) Restart. 4) Windows will provide the option for choosing which Hardware Profile to choose upon reboot. Choose the "Pro Tools" Hardware Profile. 5) Proceed with disabling various devices in the Device Manager, or proceed with using Pro Tools LE.
