Q:
Will shorter cables be available? For example, a 2-foot DB25 to XLR snake would make a great "converter snake" for existing XLR studio installations.
A:
Digidesign will not be offering shorter cables. XLR barrels need to be on the ground and not suspended from the DB25 connector. Sixteen XLR barrels "hanging" on shorter cables would cause too much weight to be placed on the 192 I/O's DB25 connector. For this reason, all DigiSnakes offer stress-relieving cable bales, and we will not offer a snake shorter than 12 feet.
