Q:
SYNC I/O and USD do not display timecode on their readouts when using serial timecode for positional reference with Machine Control
A:
When using a USD the serial time code goes directly into Pro Tools via a serial port, not the USD. Pro Tools is not designed to echo the time code back out to the USD for display on it's front panel. The inherent latency limitations makes doing this prohibitive. On the SYNC I/O serial time code is passed directly to the CPU without being "intercepted" for display on it's front panel. It is conceivable that this may change in a future release.

When synchronizing Virus to MIDI Beat Clock, results vary: sometimes it syncs, sometimes doesn't. I notice two blank panels on the rear of the 96 I/O. Is this interface capable of expansion like the 192 I/O? I just installed my Pro Tools|HD system and I hear what seems like pops and clicks, similar to a clocking issue. I swapped out the 192 and 96 I/O's. Automation does not follow audio when a previous region is trimmed in shuffle mode. My waves plug in does not work with my new purchase of Sound Designer 2.8.3 |
