Digidesign hardware is either not installed or in use by another application at Pro Tools LE launch.

This can sometimes occur if the Apple Operating System is allowed to access the Digidesign Hardware. Go to the Control Panels (located under the Apple Menu) and choose "Sound". Change the Sound Output from "Digidesign" to "Built-In". Then restart the computer. This will force the OS to free up the Digidesign hardware so that Pro Tools will be able to access it again.
