Q:
The audio is choppy and the meters are very active when recording via S/PDIF into a Pro Tools LE 5.3.2 session at 96k.
A:
Pro Tools does not easily recover from attempting to clock to a S/PDIF source whose sample rate is different than the Pro Tools session's sample rate. (ie. The Pro Tools session's sample rate is 96k and the digital source's sample rate is 48k.)Workaround - Toggle Clock source to Internal and then back to S/PDIF to restore 96k audio. Setups > Hardware Setup > Set Clock source. However, the sample rates between the Pro Tools session and the digital source MUST match. This workaround fixes the problem with Pro Tools' strange behavior, but it does not address the need for the two sample rates to be the same. The sample rate of the Pro Tools session must match the sample rate of the digital audio source.

The OMS Test Studio is not functioning when I'm testing Soft SampleCell v.3.1. Soft SampleCell v.3.1. has lost input when using in Stand Alone mode on a Digi 002. When I tried to Import Tracks from a Pro Tools v.4.3.1 Windows session into my Pro Tools LE v.5.3.2/Digi 002 session, my plug-ins were made inactive and there is no audio on my tracks. Digi 002 faders reset (a.k.a. slam) down to -inf when a change is made to OMS Setup while Pro Tools LE is running. This occurs even if Digi 002's Fader Mute is engaged prior to launching OMS Setup. |
