In Pro Toools TDM, what about routing audio directly to an output pair as opposed to first routing through a Master Fader? Master Faders operate(sum) internally at 56 bits, and then dither the output back to 24 bits; does this also hold true for going directly out a pair of outputs without first going through a master fader?
A:
Yes. Remember, a Master Fader for every output pair is always "present", whether or not you choose to create a "Master Fader" track to see it. When not showing it defaults to unity gain.
