After a few minutes of playback, distortion begins to creep into the session while using Pro Tools|HD

This behavior was isolated to a bad DSP chip on the HD Process card. Deactivating all the plug-ins on that particular chip resolved the error.Needless to say, swapping the card out eliminated the problem altogether.
