After launching Pro Tools LE 5.3.1 for Windows XP, the computer goes to a blue screen: A problem has been detected. Win32k.sys and "System has recovered from a serious error". Or after launching Pro Tools LE, the computer automatically restarts itself.

1) The solution to this problem is to remove the QuickTime application from the system and get Pro Tools launched for the first time. Then install QuickTime AFTER launching Pro Tools. Here's how:Start Menu > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs > Select QuickTime and remove it from the system. Restart.2) Launch Pro Tools LE, enter the serial number when prompted. Close Pro Tools LE. 3) Install QuickTime v. 5.0.2, from the Pro Tools LE CD, if asked to upgrade to v.6.0, do so.Here's how:Start Menu > My Computer > CD ROM Drive > Pro Tools LE Installer folder > QuickTime 5.0.2 Installer folder > QuickTime Installer > Install QuickTime.
