After about 20 seconds of recording, loud digitally distorted/static audio is recorded into Pro Tools LE v.5.3.3. when using Mbox with Windows XP.

Make sure the full version of Windows XP Service Pack 1 is installed. This is required for using Pro Tools LE v.5.3.3. with Mbox. Here's how to check this:Click on Start Menu > Run > type in the field: winver > click OK.
