Q:
Why does Pro Tools 6.0 create numerous files called sample accurate edit. when exporting an OMF.
A:
When exporting an OMF sequence from Pro Tools with Enforce Avid Compatibility or Quantize Edits to Frame Boundaries enabled, Pro Tools will create numerous files called sample accurate edit. This is the result of Pro Tools padding audio files to reach the next frame boundary. You can delete these files, but may hear undesired material exposed at either end of the main files. For further explanation of these files, see Quantize Edits to Frame Boundaries in Chapter 5 of the DigiTranslator 2.0 Guide.
