Q:
Can I copy documents onto a storage card with my Mac PowerBook so that someone using a DOS-compatible laptop with a PCMCIA slot can read them after inserting the card?

A:
If you initialize a PCMCIA storage card on your Macintosh, it will be a Macintosh formatted volume, and a DOS-compatible laptop will probably not be able to recognize it unless her computer has software meant to translate Macintosh disks.

However, if you're using PC Exchange 2.0.2 or later, then a PCMCIA card formatted on a DOS machine should be readable. PC Exchange version 1.x handles DOS floppies only (not hard disks or removable devices like PCMCIA).
