Q:
How does the Automatic Tablature Plug-in work?
A:
The Automatic Tablature Plug-in takes your notation staff, and creates SEVEN ADDITIONAL STAVES if you choose rhythmic notation, (regardless of stems up or down) or SIX ADDITIONAL STAVES if you don't choose rhythmic notation.
Here's a sample breakdown (for a guitar in standard tuning): 1. Notation Staff: Your music in standard notation. 2. Staff 2/The Rhythmic notation (optional): this is a 0-line staff with Note Shapes hard-wired so that rhythmic stems and flags/beams drop under the associated fret numbers on the string lines in the correct place. 3. Staff 3/High E string: this is a 1-line staff set to tablature so notes will be changed to fret numbers* 4. Staff 4/B string: this is a 1-line staff set to tablature so notes will be changed to fret numbers* 5. Staff 5/G string: this is a 1-line staff set to tablature so notes will be changed to fret numbers* 6. Staff 6/D string: this is a 1-line staff set to tablature so notes will be changed to fret numbers* 7. Staff 7/A string: this is a 1-line staff set to tablature so notes will be changed to fret numbers* 8. Staff 8/Low E string: this is a 1-line staff set to tablature so notes will be changed to fret numbers* * Remember that in 2001, TAB can be edited as standard notes, or TAB numbers in the Speedy Tool editing frame. If you click the Staff Tool, you'll see that there are handles for all seven additional staves (six without rhythmic note stems/flags/beams). Choose Staff>Edit Staff Attributes and scroll through them to
