Q:
MOTU Issue: MIDI Input is not recording into Performer or DP 2.7 or earlier
A:
After checking everthing including input to the MIDI interface, FreeMIDI’s “Check Connections,” Performer’s MIDI Monitor, Performer’s Input filer and View filter, if you still cannot record, check the following: 1) Launch FreeMIDI Setup 2) Double-click onto all of your input device icons and verify that you have not inadvertantly enabled “MIDI Machine” as a property in the FreeMIDI Device Specification window. You cannot record from a MIDI Machine device in Performer or DP. If you have a sharing a MIDI input of your interface with a MIDI input controller and a MIDI Machine device, you have two options if you want to record: 1) temporarily disconnect the MMC device in your FreeMIDI Configuration or 2) upgrade your standard MIDI interface to a multiport MIDI interface like the MOTU micro express, MIDI Express XT, or MIDI Timepice AV.
