Q:
MOTU Issue: Installing a ROM chip MTP AV
A:
Installing a ROM chip in the MTP AV
Unplug the unit and remove the cover after waiting a few minutes. The main memory ROM is usually located in the center of the circuit board. The u-shaped notch on the ROM should face the front of the unit. The ROM chip should be re-inserted this way. Before removing ROM, touch the chasis to discharge any static electricity. Carefully remove the ROM with chip pullers, or a small flathead screw driver. Then with the U-shaped indent facing the same way, insert the new one. You may have to squeeze in the prongs on either side slightly in order for them to sit in the ROM holder, without forcing it and breaking the prongs. Put the cover back on and plug in the unit. When you power up the unit, hold in the panic (or Source) button while turning it on. This doesn't apply to the pocket express. ***NOTE*** This is a hard reset and you will lose any user modifications, such as a base-setups, that you may use for live playing. If you use base-setups, make sure they are backed up on your computer before doing the hard reset. |
